How it works

How the calculation works

Adding GST: GST = Base amount × Rate ÷ 100; Total = Base amount + GST.

Removing GST: GST = Inclusive amount × Rate ÷ (100 + Rate); Base = Inclusive amount − GST.

For supplies within a state, GST is split equally between CGST and SGST. For inter-state supplies and imports, IGST applies at the full rate.

Multiply the inclusive price by Rate ÷ (100 + Rate). For example, at 18%, GST on ₹1,180 is ₹1,180 × 18 ÷ 118 = ₹180.

IGST applies when the supplier’s location and the place of supply are in different states (or for imports/exports). Within the same state, CGST and SGST apply.

The rate depends on the HSN code for goods or SAC code for services, as notified by the GST Council. Our team can confirm the classification for your products.
