GST: A late fee applies for each day of delay in filing returns (with a lower fee for nil returns and a cap), and interest is charged on the tax paid late, calculated for the period of delay.
Income tax: A fixed late fee applies for filing a return after the due date (lower for small incomes), along with interest on unpaid tax for the period of delay.
