Company Registration in India: Process, Timeline & Fees Explained

Company registration process

Registering a company in India is largely done online through the Ministry of Corporate Affairs portal, but the process still involves several dependent steps.

Step 1: Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)

Every proposed director needs a DSC to sign incorporation forms electronically.

Step 2: Name Reservation

The proposed company name is checked for availability and reserved via the MCA portal.

Step 3: Filing Incorporation Documents

Includes the Memorandum of Association, Articles of Association, director/shareholder details, and registered office proof.

Step 4: Certificate of Incorporation, PAN & TAN

Once approved, the Registrar of Companies issues the Certificate of Incorporation, PAN, and TAN.

What Happens After Incorporation?

Opening a bank account, appointing a statutory auditor within 30 days, and filing commencement-of-business declarations.
