Company Registration in India: Process, Timeline & Fees Explained
Registering a company in India is largely done online through the Ministry of Corporate Affairs portal, but the process still involves several dependent steps.
Step 1: Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)
Every proposed director needs a DSC to sign incorporation forms electronically.
Step 2: Name Reservation
The proposed company name is checked for availability and reserved via the MCA portal.
Step 3: Filing Incorporation Documents
Includes the Memorandum of Association, Articles of Association, director/shareholder details, and registered office proof.
Step 4: Certificate of Incorporation, PAN & TAN
Once approved, the Registrar of Companies issues the Certificate of Incorporation, PAN, and TAN.
What Happens After Incorporation?
Opening a bank account, appointing a statutory auditor within 30 days, and filing commencement-of-business declarations.
